Welcome friends! You're in Alex & Mila's blog. We're traveling by bike and our travel has neither time limit no certain route. Now we have no idea where the road will bring us and where we'll be tomorrow. We just live in free travel style, look around, meet new people and enjoy our life! And on these pages you can follow our journey and share all the adventures with us. Welcome again!

Turkey

In Ipsala we crossed boarder to Turkey!

Right after the boarder we met two Bulgarian brothers, who did a small bike-trip into Turkey.
We decided to spent the night together and ride down to

Troja

Where we split and took the road to the east across Ezine, Can, Biga, Bandirma in direction Bursa.

Getting back from a very nice camp-spot ...

We went on our very first Turkish basar

Hui! ;-)

Everywhere the people are very friendly to us and offer us to have a sit and dring "Cay" with them, like on this Gaz station...

And the Turks are very proud about their land!

All over you can find the national flag!

On our way from Can to Bursa, we passed several agricultural sides. At the moment is corn harvest, partly. After recognizing this FX 40 woking with an 6-row Orbis,

Alex decided to have a closer look! :-)

The man on the pic below was the owner of the fields and machines and invited me for a run in the machine, which I havn't denied...

They don't use any tractors here, only the trucks. Because it's a dry area, where the farmers have to irrigate, this is no problem. So, similar to the western US. And truck drivers have to cover their load, but by hand.

Also the LOC (Length of Cut)  is similar with 20 mm.

Chopping quality...??

But the irigation system is different. Farmers here put thin plastic tubes along the field, every 2nd row. They have little holes to drain the water every half a meter. I was very suprised about the treatment of thoses parts during harvest...

because nobody cares about them and they run allover all the time... ??

Uuuppss.... ;-)

Afterwards the "patrone", the man in the middle, invited us to follow him to the farm for some food and drink! :-)

and while leaving described me the route to his combine, which was working in the wet wheat-fields...

and Mila had to wait (again) beside the fields...

Alex' shoes  got pretty dirty, while taking all those pictures.

In the end the operator wanted to take a photo, not in front of his combine, no it must have done in front of his "John Deere" tractor... :-)

This is our camping in a special picnick area behind the gas station.

There was a cafe on the gas station with fresh tasty food that they cook right there. As soon as we arrived and explained that we wanted to stay for one night, the worker brought us very hot turkish bread called 'lavash'. It was really geat!
